PURPOSE:
Responsible for collecting pricing information weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly at the retail level, in assigned stores in their general area, while meeting collection and transmission deadlines.  Must be available to work 15 hours per week Saturday-Tuesday, as well as travel to Paintsville.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Uses handheld data collection devices to record product unique codes, accurately enter unique price(s), and appropriate attributes based on individual client collection criteria.

Downloads lists(s) required for collection based on the type of data collection equipment and audit type.

Transmits data collected on day of collection, with accurate work date, store time and drive time.

Utilizes web-based Field Portal to check work schedule and verify successful transmission(s).

Responsible for notifying the District Manger immediately with any error transmission information.

Responsible for responding to calls and/or emails from District manager and other company personnel in a timely manner as defined by the particular situation.

Completes all work assigned by District Manager or Logistics Manager or other company management.

Responsible for notifying the District Manager immediately when a deadline will be missed.

Responsible for immediately returning to the company any broken and/or replaced equipment.

Responsible for assisting on any job assigned, including but not limited to: Undirected Category checks and
full books, Directed Item Lists, Lapel Checks (Undirected and Directed), CPG and PSV checks.

Responsible for the timely taking and passing of the Data Collector Certification Test(s) in order to be eligible for continued employment and bonuses.

TRAVEL TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Travel Team members must be able to travel on short notice.

2.       Travel Team members must be able to travel by plane, train or car.

3.       Travel Team members must complete all regular work within the regular market at the beginning of the collection window to allow the flexibility needed to travel.

4.       Travel Team members must be willing to be trained on and complete all job types, including Lapel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required to meet performance expectations of at least 95% for on-time completion, 95% accuracy rate for both transmissions and sku/price and successful data collector re-audits at least twice a year with a minimum threshold of 80% to remain in good standing.
Must maintain a Collection Rate Index at or above 90% at all times to stay in good standing.
Must have the ability to transmit via wireless network using company-provided equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and submit to annual motor vehicle record checks.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have auto insurance and periodically produce evidence of such.
Must be willing to perform all assignments, including Lapel Checks (defined as “undercover” and working in stores discreetly).
Must be willing to travel between store locations and cover a minimum 60-mile radius from home location, as needed.
Self-starter with ability to work independently with very little supervision.

Google celebrates CV Raman's 125th birthday with a doodle
NEW DELHI: Google on Thursday celebrated CV Raman's 125th birthday by dedicating a doodle on its homepage.

Born on November 7, 1888, in Trichinopoly, Madras Province, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was a renowned physicist whose made significant contributions to the growth of science.

His interest in physics developed from early years of his life. Pursuing his passion, CV Raman won the gold medal in physics in 1904 and passed his BA examination securing first place. He completed his MA in 1907 with distinctions.

CV Raman had researched at IACS after joining the Indian Financial Service as an assistant auditor general for the government of India in 1907.

Raman established Raman Research Institute (RRI) in 1948 entirely on his own without accepting a penny from the government. There was no electricity at RRI in the first year, but that did not deter Raman from conducting several optical experiments with sunlight, a few lenses and a pair of polaroids. He considered a beam of sunlight as the best source. A manually-operated heliostat, kept in operation by voice communication, produced astonishing results. Science was a living religion for him.

CV Raman is known for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the Raman Effect.

His discovery won him the Nobel Prize in 1930, thus making him the first Asian and first non-White to receive any Nobel Prize in the sciences.

To pay tribute to this unique mind, the nation observes National Science Day on February 28. The science day is observed every year to commemorate Dr CV Raman's find of Raman Effect, the inelastic scattering of a photon.

CV Raman died on November 21, 1970 in Bangalore.

Google today remembers CV Raman on his 125th birthday by dedicating a doodle that showcases his portrait along with light rays emitting from a source.

The doodle is available only on Google India pages. It also appears on the homepage of Google Chrome users in India.

E-commerce, Pharma and Consulting stronger at MBA Placement

The lateral placements 2013 at IIM Lucknow, also known as the higher entry placement process (HEPP) began in early January 2013 and will continue for some time before the final placements. The total batch size is approximately 430 and about 50% of the students are eligible for HEPP. Some of the regular recruiters in HEPP include Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Emerson, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Google, HCL and ICICI Bank among others.

According to Anubhav Jain, member of the placement committee at IIM Lucknow, “about 20% of the companies in HEPP are coming in for the first time. Most of these first- time recruiters are from the e-commerce, pharmaceutical, FMCG, real estate and IT sectors.”

Global firms and MNCs from the Middle East, Africa and south east Asia are visiting IIM Lucknow exclusively for their talent needs. Pharmaceutical companies made their presence felt on campus with general management and sales and marketing roles. There was also an increase in the number of entrepreneurial roles offered by start-up companies operating in the e-commerce arena. Most companies opened up additional profiles and higher roles than those offered in the last two years.

Sectors such as consulting, FMCG, pharmaceuticals and IT have been bullish on recruiting IIM-L graduates, says Jain.
 

At IIM Shillong, all the sectors are bullish on hiring and in this race IT is a little ahead of the other sectors. “Almost all of our past recruiters also participated in this year’s placement process.

Apart from that, we also witnessed participation from many first-time recruiters. There was good participation from all the sectors like consulting, general management, finance, marketing IT, etc,” says Mukhim. There were challenges this year for Mumbai’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), too, considering its large batch size and multiple MBA programmes all participating together in placements. However, in addition to the support of its loyal recruiters, a number of companies had participated after a gap and some new names had also jumped into the fray.

“Companies across sectors that have visited are from BFSI, consulting, IB, FMCG, FMCD, consulting, manufacturing, telecom, media, pharma etc. Around 60 more are to visit soon. Apart from the pre-placement offers, a good number of students have been selected,” says Shobha Pai, head of placements at NMIMS.

At IIM Ranchi, till January 2013, 14 companies visited the institute for the campus placements. “The number of offers, however, has gone down, given the trend so far.

Jobs in the IT sector are substantially reduced while FMCG has seen a marginal drop. However, as a new trend, there are more opportunities in e-commerce, KPOs and the social sector with students looking for chances in social entrepreneurship,” says MJ Xavier, director, IIM Ranchi.

E-commerce, IT, pharma and consulting seem to be emerging strong at FMS too. Finance is not very bullish though but it seems to have improved from last year. “There is a good line-up of FMCG, sales and marketing companies with a lot of legacy recruiters coming in as per the early trends. The average salary has gone up by 10-15% and there has been a 20-30% increase in the number of companies in the lateral placements,” says Dhruv Mittal, placement secretary at FMS.
