Indian Navy issued notification inviting applications from unmarried Male candidates for enrollment as Sailors - Sports Quota Entry – 02/ 2014 batch- in various disciplines. Interested candidates should send their applications to the concerned authority by post so as to reach the concerned office on or before 30 April 2014.

Vacancy Details
1. Sailor
Stipend: Rs.5700 per month (during training period)
Pay Scale: pay Band of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade pay of Rs.2000 + MSP of Rs.2000 + DA (on completion of training)
a. Direct Entry Petty Officer
Age Limit: between 17 years and 22 years (candidate should be born between 1 August 1992 and 31 July 1997, both dates inclusive)(as on the date of commencement of course)
Educational Qualification: (10+2) in any stream or equivalent examination
Sports Qualification: should have participated at International/ national/ State level team games at junior/ senior level or represented a University in Inter University tournament OR should have attained minimum 6th position in National (Senior) / 3rd position in National (Junior)/ 3rd position in the Inter University meets in Individual events.
b. Senior Secondary Recruitment (SSR)
Age Limit: between 17 years and 21 years (candidate should be born between 1 August 1993 and 31 July 1997, both dates inclusive) (as on the date of commencement of course)
Educational Qualification: (10+2) in any stream or equivalent examination
Sports Qualification: should have participated at International/ national/ State level at junior/ senior level or represented a University in Inter University tournament.
c. Matric Recruits (MR)
Age Limit: between 17 years and 21 years (candidate should be born between 1 October 1993 and 30 September 1997, both dates inclusive) (as on the date of commencement of course)
Educational Qualification: Class 10th pass or equivalent examination
Sports Qualification: should have participated at International/ national/ State level tournaments.
(Selected candidates will be enrolled as Cooks/ Stewards)
d. Non Matric Recruits (NMR)
Age Limit: between 17 years and 21 years (candidate should be born between 1 October 1993 and 30 September 1997, both dates inclusive) (as on the date of commencement of course)
Educational Qualification: passed Class VIth;
Sports Qualification: should have participated at International/ national/ State level tournaments.
(Selected candidates will be enrolled as Sanitary Hygienist)
For list of sports/ games, refer notification;
Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the Trails &their clearing the prescribed Medical Exam to be conducted at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
Initial engagement will be for 15 years and is subject to successful completion of the training.
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the trials. They will have to carry all documents/ testimonials in original at the time of trials. Call letters for the trials – carrying date, time & venue for the trials -- will be sent to the short-listed candidates.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with a recent colored passport size photograph (with Blue back ground) with their name and signature on the reverse of the photograph by ordinary post to ‘TheSecretary, Indian Navy Sports Control Board, 7th Floor, ChankyaBhavan, Integrated Head Quarters, MoD (NAVY), New Delhi- 110021’ so as to reach the concerned authority on or before the prescribed last date.
